Meet our Psychiatrist

Dr Jose Rengifo is a Harvard trained board-certified psychiatrist who has expertise in medical education and diagnosing & treatment of various psychiatric conditions in adults. 


He completed his education at Cornell University and Rush Medical College as well as completing his psychiatry residency at Cambridge Health Alliance and Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School. Most recently, he has an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor in Psychiatry through Brown Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island. He has won several teaching awards and has held titles of Director of Education in the psychiatric emergency room and Program Chief of Adult Partial Hospital programs at Butler Hospital.  He has also been a consultant in educational film material at University of Massachusetts Worcester and Senior Editor of the Brown Psychiatry Podcast. 


Dr Rengifo has a passion for teaching and mentoring both to patients, trainees and professionals alike.

Dr Rengifo is unable to provide care for patients with active eating disorder, substance use disorder, frequent hospitalizations and suicideality.

Supervision & Consultation/Coaching:

Individual case consultation on a long or short-term basis to clients domestically. Consultation and coaching includes to clients domestically and internationally. Dr Rengifo empowers professionals and trainees especially those new to the US from abroad, on their journey towards cultural adjustment and personal growth. In addition, we offer specialized coaching and consulting for medical professionals navigating the intricacies of the U.S. healthcare system.

Private Policy

The law protects the relationship between a  patient and a physician and information cannot be disclosed  without written permission. 


Exceptions include:

  • If a patient intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every  effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.
  • If a patient is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
  • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which  I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
